If you put your muscles to use, then you will eventually experience muscle aches and pains. These pains may be minor, involving only a small section of your body. In serious cases, the pain may encompass your whole body, ranging from mild to excruciating.
Most muscle aches and pains will heal on their own. But in rare cases, one may experiencing lingering pain that lasts for months. You can experience muscle pain nearly everywhere on your body; your back, shoulders, neck, legs, and even your hands.
Causes
Most people experience muscle aches due to overuse, stress, injury, or tension. These aches are most likely localized, meaning they affect just a few muscles or areas in your body, such as the upper body or lower body.
When the pain is systemic, meaning it affects your entire body, then that is often the result of an illness, infection, or complications from medication.
If you are experiencing systemic muscle pain, go see a doctor immediately. If the cause of your muscle pain is due to overuse or injury, then we recommend you have adequate rest. You may speed up recovery of a sore spot through massage.
